West Wight Food File
One of the great pleasures of life in the West Wight is being able to buy excellent locally produced food in shops and in restaurants.

In Yarmouth and Freshwater we are lucky enough to have fine individual shops run by people who care about supplying tasty fresh food from locally sourced ingredients.
We are pleased to recommend these to our visitors and will be happy to pass on details.

Here at Lee Farm we grow a range of Heritage  potatoes and varieties  chosen for their special flavour. Our website leefarmpotatoes.co.uk shows progress through the year and lists varieties. Let us know what you’d like to try – salad potatoes, roasties or mash, jacket or chips.

In 2011 we grew 29 varieties, one of which featured on the menu at Robert Thompson’s Michelin- starred  Hambrough  Hotel, which won 20th place in the Good Food Guide.

Since then Robert has opened his own restaurant in Newport and continues to use seasonal produce from our farm gardens on his menus.  We highly recommend a visit for a meal when you're on the Island to experience his stunning culinary skills!

We take pride in growing vegetables, for family, friends and visitors.

From July onwards we invite visitors to pick apples from the trees around Lee. With more than 65 varieties, many of them rarely tasted heritage varieties, we hope to inspire and enthuse people to eat more English fruit, and perhaps grow for themselves.
